If in the future Wall Street moved a large amount of capital onto the blockchain, I’ve always had a question I can’t quite figure out:

Would they really accept a blockchain where everything is public?

Ordinary users might think transparency is great.

But for institutions, things are completely different.

A fund’s positions, trading cadence, fund flows, and asset allocation—if all of it can be tracked in real time by competitors, then the transparency brought by blockchain might actually become a barrier for institutions to enter the market.

So I recently revisited @Dusk , and realized the truly interesting part isn’t just about doing “anonymous transactions.”

Dusk is more like a study of:

How to make financial transactions verifiable, while not having to expose all underlying information to everyone.

These two sentences sound similar, but they’re actually completely different.

Phoenix can verify that transactions are correct through zero-knowledge proofs, while protecting sensitive information within the transactions.

Moonlight then provides an even more transparent account model.

And Zedger/XSC further extends this capability to real-world financial assets and compliant use cases.

This really reflects a very practical need in the future financial market:

The market needs transparency, regulators need auditability, and institutions need commercial privacy.

The three aren’t simply a choice between two options.

If transparency is the only option, institutions may not want to come in.

If privacy is the only option, regulators won’t be able to accept it.

So a truly mature financial public blockchain might not need to be about “choosing privacy” or “choosing transparency.”

Instead, it should be able to decide:

What information should be seen by whom.

From this perspective, when I look again at $DUSK , I feel its narrative is indeed bigger than just the pure privacy track.#dusk $DUSK
