According to Foresight News, citing a report by The Block, market platform Novig is expected to file a lawsuit on August 15 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin against the state’s Attorney General Josh Kaul and the gaming administrator John Dillett. Novig expects Wisconsin to follow the enforcement actions taken in April against platforms such as Kalshi and Polymarket, aiming to prevent them from offering sports-related event contracts to residents of the state. The company only began providing contracts to customers in the state one week before filing the lawsuit and asked the court to expedite the hearing of a preliminary injunction. Novig designates the contract market for the CFTC. Since August 4, it has filed lawsuits against officials in five states, and it has recently also reached a partnership with the New York Mets.
