Bitcoin in 2026: Resurgence or new lows?

$BTC is down 50% from its ATH of ~$126,000 (October 2025). It trades at **$63,000-$64,000**. The market is divided. Is this the bottom—or do we keep falling?

🔴 Bearish scenario

1. The Fed keeps rates high → inflation >3% and strong employment. A rate hike is already priced in. Bitcoin doesn’t generate returns, and Treasury bonds are more attractive.

2. Massive ETF outflows → net outflows of $5.4 billion** in the first half of 2026. Just in June, a record **$4.5 billion.

3. Miners’ capitulation → difficulty fell 19.9% from the peak. Miners sold more than 32,000 BTC in Q1 2026.

4. Bearish projection: Galaxy Research forecasts a bottom between $40,000-$46,000 for Q4 2026.

🟢 Bullish scenario

1. History suggests the bottom is getting closer → bottoms typically form 12-18 months after the peak. ATH in October 2025 → the bottom could be near (Q4 2026).

2. Extreme on-chain signals → the Z-Score of the Rainbow Chart fell to -2.293, the lowest level since 2016.

3. Bullish forecasts: Bernstein ($150k for 2026), Bitwise ($200k), PlanB ($500k in this cycle).

4. Macro factors: oil dropped below $76, easing inflation. If the Fed pauses or cuts in 2027, that would be a massive tailwind.

🧠 Conclusion

The most likely scenario: consolidation in Q3, with a possible rebound in Q4 if the Fed signals a pause and ETFs start seeing net inflows again.

Price Level Meaning
Critical Support $60,000-$62,000 Miner capitulation zone
Resistance to break $70,000-$72,000 Trend-change confirmation
Q4 2026 Target $100,000 If macro conditions improve

The biggest risk is macroeconomic, not crypto. If the Fed hikes rates, Bitcoin could retest $55,000. But if inflation cools and the Fed pauses, the resurgence could begin in Q4.
