#dusk $DUSK Observing @Dusk ’s technical progress, I will focus on whether developers truly want to migrate. On August 10, the DuskEVM Testnet goes live. A key point is its compatibility with Solidity and Hardhat. This means that teams originally writing smart contracts in the Ethereum ecosystem do not need to relearn an entirely different language and toolchain, so the migration cost will be much lower. For an L1, lowering the barrier to entry for developers is often more important than merely marketing performance, because the application-layer ecosystem ultimately needs developers to build and sustain it.
But a testnet is only the starting point. Just because DuskEVM can run contracts does not mean it can operate stably in the mainnet environment. Next, we still need to look at security audits, performance stress testing, the stability of the validator network, the oracle price-feeding mechanism, and whether the privacy computation module introduces additional overhead on execution efficiency. Dusk itself emphasizes compliance and privacy; many features require extra on-chain verification, which will affect TPS, confirmation times, and the fee structure. After mainnet launch, whether it can support real asset issuance and trading depends on further observation—such as the number of contract deployments, the number of active developers, and whether testnet usage continues to grow.
Another easily overlooked factor is the developer tooling ecosystem. Solidity and Hardhat compatibility solves the “can we write code?” problem, but developers also need supporting infrastructure like block explorers, testnet faucet services, on-chain data indexing, multi-language SDKs, and more. If these foundational components are not well-developed, the developer experience will still be compromised. So DUSK’s technical narrative has shifted from “is there something new?” to “can it be used reliably and stably?” Going forward, I won’t let announcements about the testnet launch easily move my emotions; I care more whether developers cast their votes with their feet. The number of contracts, deployment frequency, and how quickly ecosystem tooling fills the gaps may indicate the chain’s long-term value more than short-term token volatility.#dusk @Dusk $DUSK
