Been digging into Dusk Network again this week and honestly it's one of those projects I keep coming back to even when the market forgets it exists.

The thing that gets me about Dusk is the XSC standard. Confidential smart contracts sound like a buzzword until you actually think about what regulated finance needs. Banks and asset managers aren't going to put loan books or securities settlement on a chain where anyone can see the counterparty and the amount. That's not a privacy preference, it's a dealbreaker. So a layer-1 built specifically so contracts can execute without exposing the guts of the transaction is solving an actual adoption problem, not just adding a feature nobody asked for.

What I keep going back and forth on is timing. Being early to "privacy for institutions" could mean being right eventually, or it could mean sitting through years of nobody caring until regulation catches up to the tech. I've held small positions in projects like this before and the lesson I learned is patience gets tested hard. You watch flashier L1s pump on narrative while the thing you actually believe in trades sideways for a year.

Still, I'd rather bet on infrastructure that solves a real compliance headache than another chain promising to be faster than the last one.

Anyone else holding through the quiet period on this, or is this too niche a bet for where we are in the cycle?
