The part in the morning when I was getting squeezed during the subway transfer suddenly made me think: some coins are like the seat-cutting folks in the late-afternoon rush. They don’t look like the most aggressive ones, but they just manage to shove themselves into your line of sight.

$TOWNS feels a bit like that today.

Its spot price is now $0.0023, up 6.849% over the past 24h. The high-low range is between $0.00237 and $0.00215. It’s been lifted up, but it hasn’t turned into that kind of uncontrolled breakout.

What I care more about is why it made the ranking.

Spot 24h trading volume is $1.88M, while the futures volume is $3.27M—about 1.7x larger than spot.

This ratio isn’t especially outrageous, which suggests this move today isn’t purely “flying-by-the-seat-of-the-pants” manipulation. Someone on the spot side is actually taking it.

But don’t get too carried away, because the funding rate is -0.0123%. That’s pretty subtle.

Price is rising, yet the funding rate is still negative. That implies the shorts and the ones who refuse to buy are still around—so the chart doesn’t have that smooth, consensus-long kind of feel. It’s a little twisted instead.

This kind of twistedness sometimes keeps pushing upward for a while, and sometimes it suddenly turns around—pretty exhausting.

There’s another thing I watched for a bit.

The contract open interest is 689,957,359 coins. For such a low-priced “small ticket,” once positions pile up, the K-line can get very emotional—moving fast and also snapping back quickly.

I was editing the charts until the third version during the day and still hadn’t gotten it done. At night, when I got home, DouDou squatted by the keyboard watching me switch between charts, and I honestly felt it was calmer than me 😅

To be honest, $TOWNS today feels more like “there are funds starting to call names, but a really unified consensus hasn’t formed yet.”

So my own stance is cautious—mostly watching, not chasing.

If later they can keep slowly absorbing the volume and the spot keeps tracking, then that vibe would be more comfortable.

If it’s only futures that are causing trouble, I’d feel like this position isn’t right.

The market is changing—what’s right today may not be right for tomorrow.$TOWNS #TOWNS
