《Why a Solidity Developer Hesitates to Migrate to DuskEVM》

In my group chat, there’s a guy who builds lending protocols. He evaluated DuskEVM at the end of 2025. His notes:

Pros:

OP Stack compatible—just change the RPC in Hardhat/Foundry and you can connect

Native gas uses DUSK, no need to bridge ETH

The hedger layer can do confidential balances; competing EVMs can’t

Settle back to DuskDS—faster to reach finality

Reasons to hold back:

There are many gaps in testnet documentation; the precompile list is incomplete. If you can’t get the ZK circuits to work, you can only wait for the official team

Mainnet isn’t live yet—he doesn’t dare tell LPs “migrate over”

User-side wallet experience is fragmented: the official wallet is still in beta. You can connect via MetaMask with a custom chain, but the signature pop-up sometimes throws errors

Compliance hooks (KYC credential verification) must integrate with a third-party identity layer, increasing frontend costs

His final conclusion: “Wait until end of 2026 for the DuskEVM mainnet plus a real RWA asset (e.g., NPEX bonds) to run smoothly for a full month—then migrating won’t be too late.”
Developer hesitation means the ecosystem will likely take at least another year to really start ramping up.
