8/15 Kenya Offline Summit Update:
1. Meeting Overview
This offline technology summit was hosted in Nairobi, Kenya by Bitroot together with Techrift. The event theme is: WHY WE ARE HERE. The Emerging Tech Opportunity. The event date is August 15.
More than 300 guests attended. They brought together Web3 developers, Fintech founders, cross-border trade practitioners, and local compliance legal professionals from more than a dozen African countries, including Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, and Uganda. The conference featured multiple thematic roundtable forums (the two images you have in hand are现场 roundtable photo shots), focusing on in-depth closed-door exchanges around Africa’s digital economy.

1. Official launch of the Pan-Africa Developer Grant Support Program
Aimed at supporting Africa-based development teams with ecosystem grants, with a focus on two major tracks: Africa cross-border inclusive payments and RWA (real-world assets) such as agricultural products and tokenized precious metals. The program encourages teams to build localized applications on top of Bitroot’s high-performance public chain.
2. Open recruitment for East Africa regional node operators
Progressing the construction of Africa’s distributed node network to optimize on-chain access latency for users across the continent and to further improve the global node deployment.
3. Establish the Africa “Dual-Center Operations Strategy”
Using Kenya as the East Africa operational hub and Nigeria as the West Africa core base, continuously expanding each country’s local community ambassador system.
4. Preparations for the first Pan-Africa blockchain hackathon
The plan is to officially open registrations after Bitroot goes live on the mainnet, to discover and empower local technical talent across Africa.
5. Compliance discussions rolled out
The summit invited legal experts from East Africa to discuss a regional framework for digital asset regulation and to develop zone-based operating plans in response to the differing policies across African countries.
