UBS and Paul Tudor Jones’s funds are adding $BTC ETF.
The latest 13F shows that UBS’s call option exposure for IBIT surged more than 24x in the first quarter, with the underlying shares reaching 1.95 million. Direct holdings also rose 12% to 408,000 shares.
Tudor Investment increased its direct holdings by 18.9% to 689,000 shares, about $22.9 million. They were reducing positions the previous year, but this time they flipped direction.
The price is still moving sideways around 63,000. Retail sentiment is rather average, while these institutional moves look more like gradual accumulation at lower levels.
13F reflects data as of the end of June, so there’s lag. Whether the options were for proprietary trading, market making, or client demand isn’t clearly stated in the filing.
But in terms of direction, these big funds are not retreating.
