On August 7, 2015, the first transaction on the Ethereum network was made using the transaction hash of block 46147.

Since its inception in 2015, Ethereum spent most of 2015 valued at less than 1 dollar, but by March 2016, Ether surpassed the mark of 10 dollars, briefly reaching 10.03 dollars on March 4, 2016.

By 2017, Ether gained popularity and in May 2017 it reached the mark of 100 dollars. By the end of 2017, the price of Ether reached 774.69 dollars, and during the first week of 2018, it crossed the 1000 dollars mark.

After an unprecedented boom, Ether also suffered from the cryptocurrency crash of 2018 (also known as the Bitcoin crash) and by the end of 2018, its value fell to less than 100 dollars per unit.

From 2019 to 2021, Ether continued to grow again and reached its all-time high price of 4815 dollars on November 9, 2021.

In the first half of 2022, the price of Ether decreased.

Since its inception in 2015, the Ethereum blockchain has undergone significant technological upgrades.
