The promo caused a split. What happens to your bStock? 👀
I used to think that a stock split is simply a situation where the share price drops and the number of shares increases. But with a tokenized asset, there’s another interesting point here.
With bStocks, corporate actions are processed automatically via the Multiplier mechanism.
For example, a company performs a 2-for-1 split.
Before:
1 bStock × $100
After split:
2 bStocks × $50
The total value of your position doesn’t change just because of the split itself.
So you don’t need to manually sell the old tokens, buy the new ones, or recalculate your position by hand.
The system automatically adjusts the number of tokens and their price according to the new ratio.
And that’s important to understand when looking at the historical price of bStock.
After a split, it may seem like the asset “dropped twofold.”
But if the number of your tokens also increased twofold at the same time, it’s simply the result of a corporate action—not a real loss of half of your position.
One more nuance: while processing a corporate action, deposits, withdrawals, and conversions may be temporarily paused.
So if you see this kind of message, it doesn’t necessarily mean something broke.
Sometimes it’s just a technical part of processing the split.
