Public ledgers are great for verification, but real financial systems also deal with information that shouldn’t necessarily be exposed to everyone. Balancing those two needs is one of the harder problems for onchain finance.
That’s what makes @DuskFoundation interesting to me.
Dusk is building a privacy-focused Layer-1 designed around financial applications. Instead of treating privacy as something that can be added later, the network is exploring ways to make confidential activity part of the infrastructure itself.
Its XSC standard supports confidential smart contracts, while DuskEVM provides an EVM-compatible environment for developers. This combination makes the idea more practical because builders can work with familiar development tools while exploring privacy-focused applications.
Another part I find interesting is the focus on verification and compliance. Privacy doesn’t have to mean that everything becomes completely hidden. In financial markets, there can still be a need for accountability, regulatory checks, and controlled disclosure.
That distinction could become increasingly important as more real-world financial activity moves onchain.
For me, the interesting question isn’t whether blockchain should be private or transparent.
It’s whether we can build systems that know when information should be private, when it should be verifiable, and when it should be disclosed.
That’s the direction of blockchain infrastructure I’ll be watching closely.
