I usually scroll through the “risk notifications” without looking—just standard formality that nobody reads.
This time I opened the document for #bStocksCIS all the way through. The list is honest and lengthy: market risk, liquidity risk, issuer risk, custody, brokerage, operational, technological, regulatory, tax—right up to the wording about a possible complete loss of investments.
Every financial product has a similar list if you don’t sugarcoat it. But it’s the completeness without any softening that inspires more trust than a marketing page with not a single mention of risk.
Still, reading such a list back-to-back makes it hard not to start doubting everything—maybe that’s its real purpose.
