WL The digital currency $WLFI$ rises then pulls back after a conditional U.S. approval of the “World Liberty” bank
“World Liberty Financial,” backed by the Trump family, has received a conditional preliminary approval from the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (“OCC”) to establish a national credit bank in the United States.

The announcement triggered a rapid surge in the WLFI digital currency of more than 5.5%, reaching $0.06, before it faced a strong rejection and fell back to around $0.056.

An important approval, but not final:
The preliminary approval was issued in favor of “World Liberty Trust Company,” the entity that filed the application for a bank license earlier this year.

If all conditions are met and the bank begins operations, “World Liberty” would be able to issue its stablecoin, USD1, directly, alongside safeguarding the assets that back it and providing custody services under U.S. federal oversight. The issuance and custody operations are currently managed with the help of “BitGo.”

However, the license does not mean that “World Liberty” becomes a traditional commercial bank, since the credit bank charter does not allow it to accept conventional deposits or offer loans.

Several requirements still lie ahead before the project can start, most notably maintaining capital of at least $20 million, establishing appropriate compliance and internal audit systems, and passing pre-opening inspection processes.

The approval is an important step for the project, especially given the rapid growth USD1$ #WLFI
