I’ve been reading about what actually changes when securities live natively on Dusk instead of through traditional systems.
Right now, in many tokenized structures, the token represents a claim while the underlying asset remains in traditional infrastructure. CSDs, custodians, and clearing houses still sit in the middle. When securities are issued natively on Dusk, some of those traditional intermediary layers can potentially be reduced or redesigned. Ownership records, transfers, and settlement can be brought much closer to the on-chain ledger.
According to Dusk’s own docs, this is the point of native issuance — assets exist fully on the blockchain, so the structure around them can look very different from the usual intermediary-heavy model.
I think that’s the real shift worth watching. Not just putting a token on a chain, but rethinking how much of the securities lifecycle can actually live on-chain.
If native issuance can redesign the securities lifecycle, does traditional tokenization still go far enough?
