ViaBTC (MicroBT) dropped to global #5 after its hashing power was surpassed by SpiderPool because it still hadn’t distributed NAT, and it has never managed to catch up again.
Whether a mining pool distributes NAT may seem, on the surface, to be decided by the mining pools—but in reality, it’s miners who decide, because miners will “vote with their feet” due to profit interests.
Even Antpool, ranked #2, will be forced to distribute NAT if one day it gets its hashing power overtaken by pools behind it. Let’s wait and see.
