Brothers, to be honest, I am really a bit overwhelmed by this wave from the end of 2025 to the beginning of 2026.
Last year, I chased a few 'hundred times narratives' of Meme and AI projects, and what was the result?
The first: The community shouted 'get on the last bus', I went all in, but the project team ran away first, leaving a mess behind.
The second: Smart money on-chain bottom fishing, I followed, but the smart money was the market maker themselves, after they finished, they dumped and buried me.
The third: FOMO into gold? No, gold surged this time, while I doubted my life in the crypto world.
Looking back now, who has made the most in the crypto world these years?
It's not the earliest miners, not VCs, and not KOLs, but those who 'never go all in, always keep cash, and always mock us for FOMOing' who are the clear-minded ones.
And we who 'believed in the narrative, believed in the community, believed in the next cycle' have basically become fertilizer for the leeks.
I even seriously calculated: if I had thrown all my principal into a gold ETF in 2018, how much would I be profiting now? The answer is: enough for me to retire now.

But after the complaints, I want to ask everyone, and ask myself:
Has the crypto world really been reduced to 'scams + going to zero'? I've observed a few harsh truths (not being negative, just speaking plainly):
95% of projects are still marketing > product. The narrative has changed over and over, from DeFi to NFT to AI to RWA, and now again meme + social, but the core remains the same: traffic is king.
The community is the most fragile link. If the project team runs away, it can be restarted, but if the community disperses, it's really dead. However, the loyalty of retail investors is often built on 'FOMO fantasies,' and once that shatters, they run away faster than the project team.
Platforms are getting better, but human nature hasn't changed. Places like Binance Square are starting to actually reward content with money (200 BNB isn't given away for free), indicating that the officials want to retain 'people who provide valuable output.' But many of us are still chasing 'the next hundred times,' ignoring the long-term value of 'being seen.'
Why is gold truly appealing this time? It's not because it will increase a hundredfold, but because it allows you to 'sleep well.' The excitement of crypto is dopamine, while gold is a calmer version of adrenaline. In 2026, if BTC is still stuck in the 90-100K fluctuations, I might really move part of my position over — not abandoning crypto, but leaving myself an exit route.
So I decided: not all out, and not all in.
Continue writing content, not for BNB rewards (though getting them feels great), but to document this era and to remind myself — don't be that fool who is always FOMOing. What about you?
What was the project/narrative you lost the most on?
Do you still believe in 'the next cycle'?
If you could start over, would you go all in on gold or continue betting on crypto?
Welcome to battle in the comments section, I will reply one by one.
If this article can be seen by the officials of the square, reward me 1 BNB, and I will continue writing the second article: 'Why I still haven't exited the circle.'
