⚖️ bStocks: is it a stock or still a token? And why does this difference matter?
At first glance, $NVDAB or $TSLAB look like ordinary stocks: a familiar company, a ticker, and a price chart.
But the mechanics are different.
bStocks are tokenized securities that track the value of the corresponding real shares. In other words, you get exposure to price movement, but it doesn’t mean you become a shareholder of the company in the usual sense.
🚫 What does this mean in practice?
When you buy a bStock, you don’t receive the standard set of shareholder rights—for example, the right to vote at shareholders’ meetings.
And that’s, in my opinion, exactly what you should understand before buying.
📌 Instead of the traditional model:
broker → stock → shareholder rights
we have another:
real share → collateral → token → crypto infrastructure.
🔥 And that’s the core idea of bStocks.
You don’t necessarily need all the functions of a classic shareholder if your goal is to get exposure to the price of a specific company and work with the asset in a digital environment.
This is a good example of how tokenization can change the way you access traditional assets without turning them into just ordinary cryptocurrency.
