The ETF of $ETH saw zero inflow and zero outflow yesterday, yet the chart is so unnervingly calm.

Just now, I switched back and forth several times between the order book and the contract page for $BTC . The spot market is grinding like it’s stuck in place, while the contract side has already hit 6.16 billion USD—spot is only 729 million, a full 8.4x.

What’s even more awkward is that the funding rate is still +0.0066%, and the positions are stuck up at such a high level as 111,888 BTC.

In plain human terms: there aren’t that many people actually trading coins for each other; more of it is people on the contract desk wrestling with each other.

But at the price of $BTC , in the past 24 hours it’s been swinging around that range of about seven hundred dollars—between 62,535 and 63,247. The current price is 63,059, like it’s half asleep.

This lines up with the news about the $ETH ETF having zero net inflows/outflows.

The money outside the market doesn’t rush in, but the people inside the market are the ones who first push up the mood.

I’ve been burned by this kind of thing before.

Last time, I saw the positions not dropping, told myself I wouldn’t chase—but my hands still opened a trade. Two hours later I got swept back and forth, and I wasted the whole night doing nothing.

Right now I’m leaning toward watching and waiting. Not bearish, and not trying to chase.

If I’m going to act, I’ll only watch two things.

One: for the $ETH ETF, please don’t keep going through days of zero action. Even having net inflows for two consecutive days is stronger than where it is now.

The other: for the $BTC contract side, cool down the fire a bit first. That kind of 8.4x trade-volume gap always makes me feel like there are too many people in the car.

If this really is a trend move, just having the contracts shout loud on their own usually doesn’t mean the road will be long.

The market is changing; what’s true today may not be true for tomorrow.
