Canada’s major banks are quietly starting to gain exposure to $XRP
Bank of Montreal has become the latest large Canadian bank to disclose exposure to $XRP through ETFs listed in the U.S.
BMO reported 323 shares of the Rex Osprey XRP ETF and 20 shares of the ProShares Ultra XRP ETF in its most recent report to the SEC. Its reported investable portfolio surpassed US$303 billion at the end of June.
The disclosure comes after Canada’s National Bank, which also reported 3,848 shares of the Bitwise XRP ETF.
Both banks obtained exposure to $XRP through regulated investment products rather than holding XRP directly.
The statements suggest that Canadian banks are increasingly using already-established financial infrastructure to obtain controlled exposure to crypto assets.$XRP
