I didn’t originally plan to post these two STORJ trades. Then I thought: if I only post the profitable ones, my account will soon turn into an “ad board.”
On August 12, I went long on STORJ with 20x full margin:
Entered at 0.05648, exited at 0.0513703, -122.44U;
Not long after, I entered again at 0.05340 and exited at 0.0502284, -59.73U.
Total of the two trades: -182.17U.
What’s most painful isn’t that the first trade lost money—it’s that the first trade already told me “the rebound logic is wrong,” and 17 minutes later I entered again. Judging from the records, it really looks like I wanted to use the second trade to win back what the first one lost. Even though the position size was a bit smaller, the behavior was still the same: looking for a “bottom” I had imagined while the price was falling.
Looking back afterward, the real problem isn’t direction judgment—it’s that after going 20x full margin, I basically had no room for error. As long as the candlesticks move normally, my account experience is pure disaster.
I’ll keep this losing trade as a record. In the future, if I feel like trying to catch the bottom again, I’ll ask myself one question first: Am I seeing a real structural reversal, or am I just unwilling to stop-loss?
