Lately I’ve been watching US stocks, and I have a pretty intuitive feeling.

The money is flowing back along the “computing power” and “chips” line. Even if the market whips people around intraday, funds still like to test these kinds of names.

$AMD makes me want to take another good look.

It’s not the kind of blind follow. It’s more that I think the spot it’s standing on is less likely to be forgotten by the market.

Last night I sat in front of my computer and browsed the leaderboard on Binance for the TradFi side—$AMD was placed near the front of the US stock perpetual/evergreen growth leaderboard, and the trading volume wasn’t cold either.

Up 2.00% over the past 24 hours, current price at $504.9. The intraday high touched $511.82, and the low went down to $482.31.

This kind of price action feels familiar to me. It shakes you so much intraday your hands start to itch, but the tail doesn’t collapse—meaning there are still people willing to pick up the position.

I also noticed one more detail.

Over the last 24 hours, the trading volume is 43.21M USDT, and the open interest is 23,982 contracts, yet the funding rate is +0.0000%.

That’s kind of interesting.

There’s heat, and the positions are also being stacked, but the funding rate isn’t running up. That suggests this trade hasn’t squeezed into that kind of one-sided, crowd-chasing sentiment yet.

As someone who used to get taught a lesson the hard way in options/futures, seeing a board like this actually makes me feel more at ease—at least it doesn’t have the vibe of a trade that’s already packed with FOMO momentum orders.

Let’s go back to the sector.

For the semiconductor line, the biggest fear isn’t that there’s no story. The biggest fear is having only a story, but no actual footing.

At least, $AMD isn’t one of those stocks that’s basically living off a buzzword/concept alone.

From what I understand, it still largely benefits from the chip and computing power upcycle. And within this sector, its company name already carries recognizability.

If the market keeps circling around computing power, data centers, AI infrastructure, and similar directions, it will be hard for this one to be completely bypassed.

Personally, I’m more bullish, and there’s another simple reason.

Some stocks go up like pure emotion; some go up like money is coming back to confirm the position.

This time, $AMD feels more like the latter to me.

Of course, once a stock reaches this price level, the intraday swing isn’t small either—from $482.31 up to $511.82. If you chase while it’s running, it’s easy to get thrown off the ride.

And if the whole tech theme suddenly cools down, or if funds switch to抱ing other hot directions, it’ll still get pressured.

But if you ask me—will I add this spot to my long-term watchlist?

My answer is yes, and it’ll be the more serious kind of watch.

If I really decide to make a move, I’ll wait for it to pull back and still hold up before I gradually test in. I won’t get excited and jump in just because it turns green.

The tape is changing; today might not be the same as tomorrow.
