It wasn’t until I went back and re-read Dusk’s materials that I got a slightly different feeling. In the past, I really liked the word “transparency,” because the most fascinating part of blockchain is that everything can be verified. But over the years, I’ve slowly realized that transparency isn’t the endpoint for every scenario. In fact, sometimes too much transparency can limit blockchain from moving toward a bigger world. In the future, institutional assets, securities trading, and commercial finance will all move onto the chain. If every single flow of funds is completely exposed, would traditional finance really dare to migrate at scale?
That’s also what makes Dusk interesting to me. It doesn’t stop at the simple narrative of, “I’m going to build a faster chain.” Instead, it’s trying to tackle the hardest part of bringing finance on-chain: how to make transactions both trustworthy and not sacrifice the privacy that’s necessary. With two transaction models—Moonlight and Phoenix—the network can adapt to different needs. The former is closer to the traditional account model, while the latter supports more privacy-preserving transaction methods.
Its SA consensus mechanism is also something I’ve been paying attention to. By involving stakers in verification, using random committee selection, and designing finality, Dusk isn’t just trying to solve speed—it’s aiming to make on-chain confirmation results more reliable. Of course, I won’t get swept up just because a whitepaper looks good. The biggest trap in crypto is confusing “technological possibility” with “business inevitability.”
But my personal take is this: if RWA really takes off in the future, the market may not need yet another chain chasing extreme performance. What it needs instead is a foundation-infrastructure that can carry real financial rules. Maybe years from now, when we look back, the ones that truly change the industry will be the projects that quietly solve the “impossible problems.”
