The biggest lie in on-chain securities: “Just put assets on-chain”
The story that traditional RWA projects love to tell: bundle stocks/bonds into tokens, put them on-chain, reduce friction costs, and unlock liquidity. But this pitch leaves out the hardest part.$DUSK
What’s most difficult about tokenization isn’t the contract—it’s the invisible set of processes behind the contract. Who is qualified to buy? Do you need to go through checks before buying? How do you reconcile money with assets? To whom is information disclosed, and to whom is it not? In traditional finance, brokers handle these jobs. On-chain, nobody does—tokenization is just a pretty-looking shell.@Dusk
What Dusk Trade is doing is exactly turning the entire broker back-office workflow—“asset discovery → eligibility checks → wallet connection → payment settlement coordination → information disclosure”—into an on-chain application-layer.
Another detail the market overlooks is the cross-layer state consistency problem. Dusk splits into two VMs: DuskVM runs the native privacy logic, and DuskEVM is compatible with Solidity to attract developers to migrate. But when the application executes on EVM, assets settle back to DuskDS, and there are frequent intermediate calls to the Hedger—on testnets it feels “smooth,” yet under extreme market conditions, cross-layer message delays and privacy state synchronization can break. Then the frontend balances won’t match the underlying final state. In that moment, compatibility becomes a new liquidity island.#dusk
Only after real money actually enters the market, and the data runs under real stress, is the moat truly built.
