To be honest, the past couple of days’ stock market trend in the U.S. has really given a lesson to Bitcoin. Over there, the tech stocks are dropping one after another—especially semiconductors. AMAT fell by more than five points in one go. The two EDA brothers are even more dramatic—one is down more than 9%, and the other more than 7%. NVDA and MSFT are also turning green. On the flip side, the energy sector is actually green against the trend, up by over 1%. In this kind of split market, it’s obvious that money is moving from high-level tech down to lower areas.
Honestly, at times like this I’m actually more focused on the U.S. stock close tonight, because it directly affects the opening sentiment in the crypto market. If tech keeps staying soft, risk appetite will remain tight, and it’ll be hard for BTC to surge all at once. But if one day tech has finished dropping, stopped falling, and rebounds, then the money from overflow might well flow into crypto. Anyway, these past two days I haven’t dared to chase highs. I’m keeping my position size under control, waiting for the U.S. market to give a clear direction before making a move.
Soon, Alphabet and Tesla earnings reports are coming. Before this kind of heavyweight earnings, the market generally isn’t too willing to make big moves, and crypto is the same—there’s a high chance of sideways consolidation. Instead of messing around blindly, it’s better to keep some “ammo” for when the direction becomes clear. Do you think this tech pullback is a real top, or just a shakeout? Let’s talk in the comments.
