Wu Shuo learned that user X @bbmiumiu said that when searching for Hyperliquid on Google, they accidentally clicked a sponsored search result from a counterfeit platform. They then connected their wallet and authorized it on the phishing site, after which about 550,000 USDC was transferred out of the account in three transactions. The on-chain records they shared show that the three transfers were approximately 27,500, 82,500, and 440,000 USDC, respectively. Amberwang said that last year they had mistakenly visited and reported the same phishing site, but this time the site page had been upgraded to be highly similar to the legitimate Hyperliquid.
