BTCUSDT limit orders may not fully fill—don’t blame liquidity first; also check what Time in Force you selected.

Binance Futures currently supports valid options such as GTC, IOC, and FOK.
GTC keeps the unfilled portion open until it is fully filled or you actively cancel it; IOC only fills the quantity that can be matched immediately, and the remainder is canceled right away; FOK requires the entire order to be filled immediately—otherwise the whole order is canceled, and partial fills are not accepted.

Example: You want to use a short order of 0.5 BTC to hedge your spot position. If IOC can only fill 0.2 BTC at the time, the remaining 0.3 BTC will be canceled, so you only complete a 40% hedge. With FOK, either the full 0.5 BTC will be filled in one go, or the order won’t fill at all. With GTC, you might leave an order working, and when the price comes back later it can continue to fill.

Before placing the trade, check three steps: confirm whether you can accept a partial fill for the target quantity; choose GTC, IOC, or FOK; after placing the order, verify the “filled quantity” and your “current open orders,” and don’t treat canceled amounts as completed fills. FOK also can’t guarantee a fill, and with GTC you must remember to cancel if needed.

Which do you fear more: only filling part of the order, or an old resting order getting unexpectedly filled later?
