According to IT Home on August 14, Google (Alphabet) hardware vice president Peng Yujun confirmed yesterday that the Tensor G6 chip used in the Pixel 11 series smartphones released earlier this week is built on TSMC’s latest revised 3nm process. This means that the earlier rumor that “Tensor G6 mobile debuts with TSMC 2nm” is untrue.

Google says that Tensor G6 is its fastest and most powerful in-house chip to date: the upgraded CPU delivers a 15% improvement in app launch speed and a 25% improvement in web browsing load times. Its TPU compute performance is boosted by 50%, while on-device AI task processing speed is up to 3.5x and energy efficiency is improved by as much as 3.5x.
