According to Yonhap, LG Electronics Inc. said Friday it plans to unveil a next-generation humanoid robot that can walk on two legs in the first quarter of 2027, using Nvidia Corp.'s robotics platform. LG said it signed a memorandum of understanding at Nvidia's headquarters in Santa Clara, California, with LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo and Nvidia Chief Executive Officer Jensen Huang present. The robot will use Nvidia's Jetson Thor robotics chip module and be developed on the basis of Nvidia's Isaac GR00T humanoid foundation model and Holoscan for Robotics safety system. LG also plans to combine technologies from its affiliates, including actuators from LG Electronics, sensors from LG Innotek Co. and batteries from LG Energy Solution Ltd. The two companies will also start broader cooperation in robotics, artificial intelligence factories and mobility.
