ZEC: My take is to watch and wait, not to bottom-fish】

Don’t rush into it.

A lot of people see ZEC down 85% from its high and start getting antsy. But let me tell you: a low valuation doesn’t mean you can simply buy the dip. That logic needs to be unpacked.

Right now, ZEC is stuck around $ 485, and trading volume has shrunk dramatically. In the last 24 hours, it’s moved less than 1%. In situations like this, the market doesn’t have a clear direction. The fear index is 29, and it’s been hovering at this level for almost a week. What does that mean? It means the people who needed to get out already got out. What’s left is either deep trapped holders who refuse to sell, or those waiting to pick up “cheap” capital.

You could say the valuation is low—yes, it is. But there are plenty of things with low valuations. Low valuation doesn’t automatically mean it’s at the bottom.

The key question is: has ZEC’s underlying logic changed fundamentally?

Its core is privacy transactions, and that demand has always been there. But regulatory pressure is also increasing. These two forces tug against each other, making its price action painfully complicated. If you enter now, what you’re really betting on is whether it can find a way out from between those pressures—either by a compliant breakthrough, or one day a big application scenario suddenly blows up.

From a trading perspective, I lean toward going long only after it breaks out with volume above $ 520, or considering a stop-loss if it falls below $ 450. In that range, I’d rather watch than act.

It’s not that ZEC has no future. It’s just that at this point in time, the odds aren’t clear enough.

Are you watching ZEC? Do you think this move is a value trap or a gold pit?
