8.13 Gold Daily Summary
Today, CPI and PPI, along with initial jobless claims, arrived in succession to hit the market, causing the price action to oscillate and whip-saw.
In the morning, the outlook was provided in advance with both long and short setups. Around 4438, the stalled short position was entered; after pushing up to 4449, it then pulled back and realized an 80-point move. The idea of buying on a pullback to support likewise captured the swing profit—both the long and short timing plans were executed successfully.
Data-driven markets can easily show a “bullish surprise followed by a decline.” Don’t blindly trust the data alone. Technical levels and capital flow should be given higher priority.
In a ranging market, don’t chase breakouts or selloffs. Know when to take profit. Risk control always comes first. $XAU
