Evaluating SpaceX: overvalued hype or a solid 1-2 year play?

A lot of traders ask whether SpaceX is worth adding to a portfolio right now and how to actually handle its valuation.

first, reality check on valuation:
SpaceX is still a private tech giant (valued around $200B–$210B+ in recent secondary tender offers. over a 1-2 year horizon, it’s definitely not "cheap" on traditional metrics. u're paying a premium for Starlink’s massive cash flow growth and their near-monopoly on commercial rocket launches.
so is it overvalued? short term, it trades at high growth multiples. but long term, Starlink recurring revenue makes it way more stable than pure speculative tech.
how to size & manage risk for a 1-2 year horizon:
portfolio allocation: 3% to 5% max
treat it as a high-upside growth allocation. don't put 20-30% of ur total bag into a single high-multiple asset.

how to actually DCA properly:
the biggest mistake beginners make is buying more on every tiny 5% dip.
tranche 1 (40%): initial entry at current levels.
tranche 2 (30%): only average down if there’s a major market wash of -15% to -20%.
tranche 3 (30%): keep for a deep macro correction (-30%+ drawdown).
level-based DCA protects ur capital from getting stuck with a huge position at high prices.
