Binance bStocks managed to surpass xStocks to become the second-largest issuer of tokenized stocks by value, just less than two months after its launch. This shift reflects the speed of competition in the tokenized stocks market, where positions change over a relatively short period.

According to Token Terminal data, the value of bStocks reached about $624 million on August 3, ahead of xStocks, which recorded nearly $579 million, but still behind Ondo Finance, which reached roughly $927 million. In the latest available reading, bStocks retained second place with a value of $610.6 million, compared with $601.2 million for xStocks.

This rapid progress highlights the growing momentum in the tokenized equities sector—a field that combines exposure to traditional assets with blockchain-based infrastructure. For investors, the importance of this growth stands out in three key areas:

• Liquidity: An increase in the number of issuers and the value of assets may support trading activity and capital inflows.

• Diversification: It gives users broader options for accessing equity-linked products through digital tokens.

• Compliance: It remains a crucial factor in building trust and expanding the user base, especially as institutional interest continues to rise.

The data also shows how much the market has shifted in just one year. In the same period last year, xStocks led the list with a value of roughly $40.7 million, followed by Robinhood at $37.2 million, while Ondo’s value did not exceed about $65,000. Since then, the total value tracked by Token Terminal has risen from around $80 million to approximately $2.7 billion.

Binance launched its bStocks product on June 11 to give investors exposure to U.S. stocks via blockchain-based tokens, without holding the underlying shares directly. Changpeng Zhao, co-founder and former CEO of Binance, attributed the product’s rapid growth to the platform’s broad user base.

This new ranking suggests that the tokenized equities market is no longer just a limited experiment, but an actual competitive arena among platforms and issuers seeking to attract liquidity and build a stronger presence in the sector of real-world tokenized assets.
