Cautious macro conditions; Harmony suffers a major vulnerability; RWA continues to heat up
On August 12, the overall crypto market remained cautious.

⚠️ Today’s biggest risk event: Harmony (ONE)
Harmony encountered a serious security incident.
The attacker minted around 4 billion ONE without authorization—about 26% of the existing circulating supply.
ONE’s price dropped roughly 26%–40% at one point, with a low around $0.00057–$0.00077.
The project team confirmed the vulnerability and released a remediation plan, while pausing bridge services, working with trading platforms to freeze related funds, and studying next steps for handling the situation.
This again reminds the market:
Calm prices ≠ secure infrastructure.
In the crypto market, the truly dangerous part is often not volatility—but when you think everything is fine and the underlying system suddenly fails.
🏦 RWA and institutionalization continue to progress
On the other hand, institutional capital has not stopped flowing into on-chain finance.
Fidelity has filed documents seeking to add a staking mechanism to its Ethereum ETF FETH.
If approved, the ETH held by the ETF would participate in staking under eligible conditions, meaning the link between traditional investment products and on-chain yield mechanisms would deepen further.
At the same time, Hyperliquid’s RWA perpetual contracts remain highly active, and gold, oil, stocks, and Pre-IPO assets are gradually entering on-chain trading scenarios.
This indicates that RWA is no longer just a narrative.
It is steadily becoming real financial infrastructure.
