I keep coming back to Dusk Network because something about the transaction trail has been bothering me. I opened the explorer thinking I’d spend a few minutes following activity, and somehow I ended up sitting there much longer than planned.
At first, I thought I was missing something.
I’d follow the visible activity, check the timing, look at fees and contract interactions, then suddenly the trail would become much harder to connect.
So I went back.
Same thing.
That’s when it clicked that I was treating Dusk like a chain where every extra transaction should give me another piece of the puzzle.
But Phoenix doesn’t work like that. Sender, receiver and transferred amounts can remain private. Then you hit public Moonlight activity and parts of the trail become readable again.
It creates this weird experience when you’re actually digging through the data.
One minute I feel like I understand what users are doing. A few transactions later, I’m basically looking at the edges of activity rather than the activity itself.
I’ve checked my notes more than once because I genuinely thought I had followed something incorrectly.
I still might have.
But there’s one thing I can’t get out of my head.
Am I actually seeing users change their behavior on Dusk, or am I just watching them move between the part of the network I can see and the part I was never supposed to see?
