According to Xinhua News Agency, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China, the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, and the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference solemnly announced: “Comrade Zhu Rongji, an outstanding member of the Communist Party of China, a loyal communist fighter tested over the long term, and an outstanding proletarian revolutionary and political leader, an outstanding leader of the Party and the state, a member of the Standing Committee of the 14th and 15th Central Politburo of the Communist Party of China, and the former Premier of the State Council, died in Beijing at 11:06 a.m. on August 12, 2026, at the age of 98, after efforts to treat his illness proved ineffective.”
