My teacher is 80 years old. For 45 years now, he has been watching the stock market, and over that time he has developed several simple rules for position management.
He says that beginners don’t need dozens of indicators. It’s much more important to know in advance what you will do when the price moves.
−5% → do nothing, hold the position
−15% → add 10% more to the position
−25% → add another 25%
+5% → hold
+15% → hold
+25% → take profit on 10%
+35% → take profit on 20%
+45% → take profit on 30%
+60% → take profit on 40%
+100% → close the position completely
His main principle:
“ You shouldn’t make decisions under the influence of emotions. The decision needs to be made before the market starts moving.”
Discipline in action. Patience over time. This is exactly what he considers the foundation for long-term results.
