cpi also ended up living up to expectations. In fact, this was something Lao Shan expected all along. Earlier, Lao Shan also said that before Trump’s midterm elections, the data wouldn’t be too bad. Even the nonfarm and cpi figures could be adjusted—changing these numbers is part of Trump’s playbook. As for rate hikes on the 9th, 10th, and 11th—don’t expect interest rates to be kept steady. After the midterm elections, the data will worsen, and a full-scale collapse would be the normal outcome. Trump is a proud man, so Wash followed Trump’s lead the whole time. Now the biggest risk is the US-Iran situation—this uncertainty. With the Strait of Hormuz controlling the flow like turning a faucet on and off, gold stocks, and the stock market will all be affected one way or another. In the end, the money flows back to the US side. Where do retail investors go, and where do they need money to fight a war? Globally, everyone wants that contract. The US side currently has $4 billion in treasuries—it can only harvest the rest of the world to pay interest. Yesterday I also mentioned that South Korea and Japan will definitely become the US’s money bags. Japan only a few days ago used $52.8 billion from its foreign exchange reserves to just bring the exchange rate down from 163 to 155. And only days later, the US started another round of harvesting. Now things are difficult for Korea and Japan too, and it’s even harder for the market to recover its cash.
Now let’s take another look at the market. Due to the CPI impact, Bitcoin yesterday surged to a peak of $64,500, but it failed to break above the strong resistance level at $64,800. The sell pressure above that level remains heavy, and then it pulled back, reaching a low of $63,310. Ethereum also peaked at $1,924 yesterday, but it didn’t break through the $1,950 resistance. It likewise pulled back, with a low of $1,872. So, for Bitcoin next, the key focus is the $63,000 level. Once this level breaks down, price is likely to seek support around $62,500. On the upside, for now we’ll watch $64,800, then $65,000, and $65,500. In particular, $65,500 is the key boundary between bulls and bears. For Ethereum, on the downside, watch the $1,850 level. This is very important—if it breaks, then it will likely find support around $1,800. It’s suggested that everyone enter trades at an appropriate position, and place your stop loss below the support level. Keep this in mind—do not forget to set your stop loss properly. That way you can repeatedly trade the swings. That’s what the market is like right now—choppy back-and-forth action, whipsawing and harvesting. The market is always changing, and written analysis has limited timeliness. If you don’t understand, you can ask Old Mountain, or follow Old Mountain. Finally, I’ll leave you with one saying: the true buying point is extremely painful; the true selling point is extremely reluctant.
