Spot 24 hours only $4.05M, while the futures first put in $51.67M. In this $COTI pump into the rankings, it wasn’t spot chasing the price—leveraged positions first pushed the hype up.

Current price $0.0138, up 33.59% in 24 hours, moving from a range of $0.00931 to $0.01529—ample volatility; but more importantly, the contract-to-spot trade ratio reached 12.8x, and the funding rate is still -0.6727%. Prices are rising, yet the funding rate is negative—this suggests shorts haven’t really exited, or someone is chasing longs while being forced to pay as they’re kept under pressure. This kind of order flow is most likely to sweep back and forth.

I don’t chase breakouts on this kind of setup. I place a buy at $0.0126, using 3% position size. If it drops back below where the strong intraday move was lifted from, I stop out. If it doesn’t fill, that’s fine. Now the open interest is 593,328,946 COTI, which means the leverage positions are already piled up. Next, it’s a question of who can’t hold out first—not who tells the story better.

For these leaderboard coins, if there really is persistence, spot volume will follow; if spot can’t keep up, the futures will loosen on their own.
