My college roommates talk all day about “Dota is life,” and even risked their lives to sneakily connect sockets so a few dorms could be linked up to party together. I don’t get it, and I wasn’t moved at all 🙉. You know what I mean—I’m only interested in making money.
I don’t care about the heroes or skills I can’t remember. I just want the 5v5 match rules and the schedule I can actually understand—that’s still very easy for me 🤏
The total prize pool is 100k USDT, split into two stages: the group stage and the knockout stage. The former is 25k, the latter 75k. Plus there are PP points rewards (airdropped to you when predict fun issues its tokens in the future). It can’t compare to the World Cup’s 2 million mega prize pool, but this time the rules are also more brutal: there’s no need to pick teams like in the World Cup. You just predict. If your prediction is correct, you earn event points (note: not PP points). In both stages, the top 1000 by points get rewards—see image 2.
I already have experience. No need to gamble on win/loss—just hedge. In the World Cup, I didn’t control it well and became a gambler, and in the end I lost everything that would’ve been profit from the winning side. But the event itself—I still made 335 USDT plus a bunch of PP. This hedging “loss,” the wear and tear from the mismatch, is a math problem with a very clear upper limit.
All in all, 11 days, about 50–60 matches predicted. Tomorrow is day one with as many as 8 matches, and the timing overlaps. Even though it’s daytime, it really tests your rhythm and how efficiently you use your funds. Feels like some physical work 🤣
