On August 12, WeRide, the world-leading autonomous driving technology company (NASDAQ: WRD, HKEX: 0800), released its 2026 second-quarter and first-half financial results.

In the first half of the year, the company’s total revenue reached RMB 350 million, up 73% year over year; of this, second-quarter revenue was RMB 230 million, up 82% year over year and up 103% quarter over quarter. Gross margin rose to 37.5%, 9.4 percentage points higher than the second quarter of 2025. Operating efficiency continued to improve.

Going overseas has become the company’s strongest growth engine. In the first half of the year, overseas revenue grew 154% year over year; in the second quarter, it grew 164% year over year and 169% quarter over quarter. The European Robotaxi project has rolled out in succession; in the Middle East, purely unattended operations have continued to expand. The right-hand-drive Robotaxi also plans to be deployed first in Singapore and Hong Kong, accelerating the replication of the proven, asset-light model into more markets. Currently, WeRide’s business covering the industry has reached 13 countries and more than 60 cities, and has run end-to-end commercial loops in multiple overseas cities. With overseas operations benefiting from high gross margins and marginal efficiency, they are expected to become an important source of cash flow and a profit center.

L4 commercialization acceleration with L2++/L3: both growth curves rise in tandem. In the second quarter, the company’s L4 business revenue grew 131% quarter-over-quarter, while Robotaxi registered users grew 35% quarter-over-quarter. As of July 31, WeRide’s global L4 fleet size was about 3,400 vehicles, including more than 1,800 Robotaxis. In the same period, L2++/L3 business revenue grew 219% quarter-over-quarter. Deliveries of its in-house one-stage end-to-end solution WRD 3.0 reached about 30,000 units. It also secured production-designation for over 30 vehicle models and worked with Mercedes-Benz on an L3-level concept validation project.

Autonomous driving is the first large-scale commercial deployment scenario for physical AI. Leveraging the technical foundation of physical AI, WeRide has built long-term competitive moats, becoming the first to complete the leap from technical validation to large-scale commercialization, and continuing to lead the industry toward a new era of physical AI industrialization.
