Overseas Chinese “crypto-currency billionaire” dies a mysterious death after falling from a 30th-floor building; when his body was found, it was completely naked and covered with a black plastic bag. His foreign girlfriend said she knew nothing about what happened.
According to media reports, in the early hours of August 7, Ye Junde, the founder of a crypto-asset management company born in Hong Kong, China, was found dead at the foot of a Paraguayan mansion, with a handwritten note nearby. Police said his apartment on the 30th floor was in disarray: a table was set up on the terrace, and there were fingerprints on the open glass window as well as what appeared to be supporting marks. There was still food inside the home. A 29-year-old Brazilian companion on the 27th floor claimed that she had been asleep at the time and was unaware. A resident said that before his death, Ye Junde had exhibited abnormal behavior—moving around naked and not taking the elevator. Police currently have not ruled out any possibilities.
Ye Junde immigrated to Canada as a child. In 2013, when the price of Bitcoin was only about $60, he entered the digital-asset market with initial capital of about $250,000. He currently manages assets totaling as much as $2.4 billion, or about RMB 16.2 billion.
