The investigating judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court changed the preventive measure imposed on the former head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak. In particular, at the request of the defense, the investigating judge expanded the restrictions on the suspect’s movement across several regions.
Specifically, at the request of the defense, the investigating judge expanded the restrictions on the suspect’s movement to several regions whose necessity for travel the suspect justified by his participation in a legal-aid project for servicemembers. Thus, the obligation not to leave without the permission of the detective, prosecutor, and court from Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast was replaced with an obligation not to leave without such permission beyond the boundaries of Kyiv, Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Kherson Oblasts, with the possibility of transit through other regions. "On 10 August 2026, the investigating judge partially granted the motions of the attorneys for the former head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, who is suspected of legalizing property obtained through criminal means, related to the construction of a private cottage town near Kyiv, and changed the procedural duties previously imposed on him," the statement says.
It is noted that the premise for the defense side to apply to the court with such a motion was the simultaneous receipt by the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) and the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) of a number of similar in content letters from commanders of military units in the interests of the suspect. In turn, the prosecutor objected to granting the motion, since the duties previously imposed on the suspect in connection with the application of a preventive measure did not impede the implementation of the project, in which he performs the role of a manager, not a lawyer who directly provides legal assistance.
