Harmony forwarded a tweet from X user Juiceberg, stating that on-chain data shows the Harmony protocol suffered a vulnerability exploit. The attacker illegally minted about 4 billion ONE tokens through empty blocks, accounting for 26% of its total supply. According to a report by Foresight News, about 2.8 billion tokens were quickly transferred to exchanges during the period when the price crashed. Harmony’s totalSupply endpoint failed to reflect this token issuance, causing a discrepancy between the actual on-chain circulating supply and the publicly available data.

Harmony responds, saying it is working with its team and relevant exchanges to stop and freeze these funds, and is also researching patch and rollback solutions.
