👤Buterin presented an updated Ethereum roadmap
Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin updated his network development roadmap and compared it to the current plan of the Ethereum Foundation — Strawmap.
Among the new priorities:
- user privacy and resistance to censorship;
- scalable protection against quantum attacks;
- simplifying the Ethereum architecture;
- gas futures and BLOBs to lock in the cost of fees;
- native rollups with execution directly at the L1 level;
- a possible shift to a more modern instruction set instead of the protocol’s direct dependence on the EVM.
Buterin noted that some of these directions were technically unrealizable or not even considered a few years ago.
The main goal is to make Ethereum simultaneously quantum-secure, private, censorship-resistant, scalable, and simpler.
