This downward trend hasn’t bottomed out in the short term yet. The key signal is that a short liquidation is only just starting.

Look at the data: In the past 24 hours, total liquidation across the entire network was $178 million, across 59,844 trades. Long positions were liquidated by $157 million, while shorts were only liquidated for $21 million. The long-to-short liquidation ratio is close to 9:1, which shows that during the selloff, the long positions that tried to buy the dip are being continuously harvested.

But the most crucial detail is here—within the last hour, short liquidations suddenly surged to $3.22 million, several times higher than in the previous few hours. This implies that some shorts have started taking profits, or that they believe the short-term low has already been reached.

At the coin level, things are clearer:
Liquidations of $61.64 million—almost like one-way longs getting slaughtered
Liquidations of $56.60 million—yet the short liquidation share actually rose to 6.6%, which is double BTC’s 3.3%
The most interesting part—5,212 liquidation orders but the total amount is only $4.92 million, averaging $944 per trade. This is typical of a high-leverage retail crowd density; nearly all of this capital has been wiped out

Where do you think this BTC move will drop to? Buy at current price, or wait a bit longer?
