In the crypto world for 9 years—I’ve experienced explosive rallies and also survived brutal crashes.
After my account broke into eight figures, many people asked me:
“Then what’s the secret to making money?”
Looking back, what truly determines the outcome isn’t some magical indicator or a get-rich scheme.
It’s two words—survive.
Today, I’ll only share a few things the market taught me over these years.
First, never ignore the direction of BTC.
Bitcoin is the anchor of the entire market.
When it rises, market sentiment and money flow spread, and altcoins get opportunities to perform;
when it corrects, most smaller coins will feel the pressure.
Sometimes ETH moves to its own rhythm, but trying to make altcoins long-term fight the market in the opposite direction is extremely difficult.
Second, learn to observe capital flow.
In the market, there’s often a rotation between BTC and stablecoins.
When demand for USDT increases, it often means capital is starting to turn defensive;
when BTC rises rapidly, you also need to know how to lock in profits in batches—don’t let unrealized gains turn back into losses.
Trading isn’t just about buying. Even more important is knowing when to protect your principal.
Third, focus on the market’s tempo instead of obsessing and worrying while watching the screen.
Different time periods bring different levels of participation, and volatility changes accordingly.
During the late night, pre-market, and the time when U.S./Europe capital comes in, clearer moves are often more likely.
But time patterns can only be used as reference—the real determinants of the trend are always capital, news, and market sentiment.
Fourth, don’t let short-term volatility easily break your mindset.
Real valuable assets—short-term drops aren’t scary.
What’s scary is chasing and selling in a disorderly way without a plan.
If you have a position, manage risk;
if you have capital, scale in your entries in batches;
if there’s no opportunity, then be patient and wait.
The market always rewards those who are prepared.
The trade I remember most clearly is when I laid the groundwork early for Dogecoin, then held it all the way and ended up with solid returns.
That experience taught me this:
What really tests people in crypto isn’t predicting every rise and fall—it’s staying calm when others are panicking, and still having coins when opportunities appear.
Over 9 years, the biggest gain wasn’t how much I made, but learning how to survive long-term in this market.
There’s no shortcut in trading—only cognition, discipline, and patience.
