Have you filled in the link field in the upper-right corner of your GitHub repository?
I just checked my own 17 repositories. Sixteen were blank. That’s the only outbound link on a repository page—and with 2,352 stars, the traffic I was sending to my own website was zero.
Same goes for topics. These aggregator pages are a major way people discover tools. If you haven’t tagged your repo, it won’t show up there—you’re effectively leaving a free source of traffic switched off.
You can take care of both in about ten minutes:
· Settings → the gear next to About on the right → enter your website under Website
· In the same place, add 5–8 topics that reflect what your repo actually does. Don’t just copy a template.
Be specific with your tags—don’t add too many, but don’t be lazy either. Specific terms like mcp / claude-code / prediction-markets are much more useful than broad ones like ai / tools. You’re never going to rank on the aggregator pages for those broad terms.
These omissions don’t trigger errors, and the repo looks perfectly fine, so they can go unnoticed for a long time. Go check yours now.
