$ZEST this move at dawn was a bit something.

It pumped 2% in just 15 minutes, with volume more than 12x the usual level, and volatility Z reaching 3.63 — this isn’t a normal wick, it really has the feel of funds stepping in. OI rose 2.2% in sync over 15 minutes, and also gained 2.74% over 1 hour. Judging by the nominal increase, this wave is new long leverage entering the market, not a fake move from short covering.

What’s even more outrageous is the funding rate, at +0.0792%, which is straight up at the 99th percentile. Longs willing to pay such a high funding rate to chase higher prices are really bold.

At present, OI is at an abnormal 98.6th percentile, the second most extreme in the pool, and the nominal change is also in the pool’s Top 20. Price up, OI up, funding rate exploding, volume doubling — the chain is complete, and longs are indeed continuing to add positions in the extreme zone.

That said, in the end, it’s already close to historical extremes. 24h trading volume of 6.34M is not low for this coin either. The active buy-side advantage is actually only 0.9%, and the buy-sell ratio of 1.02 has only just crossed the line.

Under this kind of high funding rate, the people chasing in now may end up carrying the bag for those behind them. The closer it gets to extremes, and the more visible it becomes to everyone in the pool, the more you should ask yourself — can it still get even crazier? $ZEST watching is fine, but chasing highs takes judgment.
