Citi: The Mexican Central Bank will keep
the interest rate at 6.50% until 2027
Citi expects the Mexican Central Bank to keep the benchmark interest rate at 6.50% throughout 2026 and 2027, based on easing core inflation and weak economic growth as factors that limit the need to tighten monetary policy.

Headline inflation rose by 0.11% month-on-month in the second half of July, in line with market expectations and slightly below Citi’s forecast of 0.13%.

Non-core food inflation came in at 0.20%, as onion and orange prices exerted upward pressure, while tomato prices declined.
